Spring has sprung

Easter weekend was one of those when I'm happy to live in New York City. Gorgeous weather and good times. The darling hubs was able to take the entire weekend (the entire weekend!!) off for a change and we made the most of it.

Saturday started off with a solo jaunt to the Brooklyn Botanic Garden first thing in the morning. Hubs wanted to laze about in bed but he was kind enough to let me borrow his car. Zoom zoom zoom and I was just in the nick of time for free Saturday morning admission. I spent an hour or so wandering about and enjoying the gorgeous blossoms and then I headed back home to spend the afternoon with the young man. So lovely...

Sunday we went to Ikea in Red Hook to scope out the possibilities for furnishing our apartment and get some cheap grub. I tried semla for the first time. Ikea's version was super tasty and considering that that's a mediocre example.. Yum! While we were in the area, we decided to take a trip to Lowes to grab some stuff and passed Build It Green. Such a great place, so many wonderful things I would love to buy. The furniture store next door was great as well.

The weekend ended with Peruvian food and TV, lazy at the house. Perfect.
