Summer Streets

I really don't know what it is, whether I'm so used to waking up early that I can't sleep that late or if that thing that seems to happen to people when they become grown ups has happened to me, but I've started waking up early on the weekends. What! Saturday morning I woke up around 8:30 or so and tried to decide what to do. I'd read about a Maurice Sendak illustration exhibition at the Society of Illustrators so I decided to go do check it out. I hopped on the train from Brooklyn and got off at 59th. Coming off the train there's this one spot where you can left up to the street or right and go straight into Bloomingdale's. I wandered about for a bit, looking at gorgeous clothes I want to buy (I saw this one Rag & Bone top that I just about died for: a classic sleeveless button up in the softest leather) before I just couldn't handle the temptation any longer. I went outside to find a little light sprinkle (good thing I had my umbrella with me!) and moseyed my way over to find the exhibition. One little problem though... I probably should have looked at the hours before making the trek... Oops.

So there I was, trying to figure out what to do with myself and aimlessly wandering, when I wandered over to Park Avenue and discovered it was closed to cars! Very exciting. I ended up walking all the way down Park Ave from 63rd to 19th which was awwwwwesome, even with the super light drizzle. At least I didn't get a sunburn.
