Trading down for up

Saturday morning was rough, y'all. Three nights in a row of going out is not as easy as it once was and we needed to sleep in. Unfortunately, between a slow paced brunch and my inability to navigate the bus system in my own neighborhood (don't ask...) we didn't get to midtown in time to meet Erin's friends for some touristing. But, you know, not all was lost! We ended up having a pretty rad day.

The theme of the day was basically food. Like always. We started off with Balinese at Selamat Pagi and ended with Laduree. Yeah, that's right. So good.

Like I said up above, it took us a while to get out of Brooklyn. It just does sometimes. I'm a bit defensive. Once we did, we moseyed around Fifth Ave and then hauled butt to the Museum of Arts and Design right before they closed. They had a ceramics exhibition up that was INTENSE. I mean, like, whoa... Beautifully executed, wonderful artistry but graphic. I highly recommend it. I also really enjoyed the grey tones in the stairwell. There was something about that starkness that just spoke to me.

(Just FYI, this may be on of my favorite photos I've ever taken...)

Afterwards we walked through Central Park (Erin had never been and sorry for posting the awkward photo but it's the only one I have of the two of us together) and to the line for macarons. Not a bad day of playing tourist and tour guide. We were only mildly exhausted by the time we were done, no big deal.

  1. Omg, that last photo looks heavenly! Looks like you had fun!

    1. Laduree basically is heaven on earth, no joke.
