Bike rides: Red Hook

posted on: Friday, July 4, 2014

Sooo, something happened a while back, something that directly coincided with my decrease and then complete stop in bloggity blog output. Somehow the frame around my computer screen got cracked. Just on one side, not a big deal. Except, over the course of a year or two, that crack became worse and worse and then the other side cracked and then it just got worse and worse until it got to the point that I could only open my computer using a very stupid trick. It was bad… And I'm sort of lazy so unless I really needed to do something on it, it was just too much hassle. BUT!! I took it to a shop and I got it fixed. Yay! Here's evidence (yikes):

While I was down a computer, I was totally still doing rad shit, yo. No really though, I've been keeping myself busy (obviously with work) but also with getting super serious about a running program and riding my bike. Remember back in April when I busted my bike out for the first time in who knows how long? Well, that was just the beginning. I've been really lucky to make a friend at work who 1) is totally awesome and fun and 2) has become my work out buddy/motivating force to get up in the mornings and run and then to ride my bike to work. It's way fun. We don't just ride to work though! We have fun rides too.

Case in point, a few weeks ago a friend of a friend was in town visiting. She turned out to also be super duper rad and one day we convinced her to rent a bike and let us drag her all over town. And when I say all over town, I mean ALL. OVER. TOWN. Our ultimate destination was Red Hook but we took a windy route. Williamsburg, DUMBO, Brooklyn Heights and back through Gowanus, Fort Greene and Bed Stuy. Way fun! I highly recommend the pina colada at Brooklyn Crab. Still on the fence about those steamers but that drink…? YUM.

I'm totally that obnoxious friend just snap-snap-snapping away...
