Travelogues: A weekend down by Orlando

posted on: Sunday, July 6, 2014

So, anyone do anything super crazy awesome fun for the Fourth of July? I did! I slept in, I hit the gym, I drank a margarita, I stayed home all afternoon and watched "Escape from New York" and I watched the (less than impressive from our angle) Macy's fireworks display with some friends. And then, after a lllllllll that wild excitement, we ate a burger, drank a beer and went home to turn in early. I could make a joke about officially being old but really, it has more to do with being lazy and Hurricane Arthur providing us with the perfect rainy weather to make laziness socially acceptable. Cheers to that!

Not really the bbqing, beer drinking, sunshine-y good times one usually expects from the fourth but we got a really nice taste of that back in May when we went down to the Orlando area to visit one of Alan's favorite friends and his gorgeous wife and to celebrate Alan's birthday.

Before we left I requested that we have a weekend with zero agenda, aside from sitting by the pool and just hanging out. And guess what… That is EXACTLY what we did. A perfect weekend, if I do say so myself. It was so awesome to laugh and hang out with some really wonderful, positive people and I haven't seen my husband that relaxed and happy in ages. Soooo nice. Can. Not. WAIT to hang out with you guys in California!!! xoxo
